Description

A full‑bodied and expressive Chardonnay from Lanzerac Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, this 2024 vintage reflects the estate’s long heritage of crafting approachable and well‑balanced wines. Lanzerac’s vineyards in the Jonkershoek Valley benefit from careful vineyard practices and skilled winemaking.

Tasting Notes:
This Chardonnay shows prominent citrus aromas on the nose, with layered complexity including lemon, clover, ginger and vanilla. The palate is balanced between fruit intensity, refreshing acidity and a soft texture, leading to a lingering, elegant finish.

Winemaking:
Hand‑harvested grapes are vinified and matured to retain freshness while allowing gentle integration of oak influence, contributing to the wine’s structure and depth without overpowering the varietal character.

Food Pairing:
Pairs beautifully with seafood such as smoked salmon terrine or poached fish, as well as creamy pasta or shellfish dishes.

ABV: 13.5%

Estate:
Lanzerac Wine Estate, established in 1692, is one of South Africa’s most historic wine estates and is famously recognised as the home of the first bottled Pinotage. Situated at the foot of the Jonkershoek Valley in Stellenbosch, the estate combines long-standing heritage with modern vineyard redevelopment. Under Cellar Master Wynand Lategan, who has overseen the Lanzerac range since 2005, continued vineyard renewal has focused on improving fruit quality and long-term sustainability.
