An orange wine from Alsace crafted predominantly from Gewurztraminer (90%) with a small proportion of Riesling (10%). Produced by Domaine Charles Frey using natural vinification methods, this cuvée reflects the estate’s commitment to minimal intervention and expressive, terroir-driven wines.
Tasting Notes:
Deep golden in colour with a slight amber hue from skin contact, the nose displays classic Gewurztraminer aromatics of lychee and rose petals. On the palate, the wine is structured and dry, with notable substance and length. The extended maceration brings gentle tannic grip and texture, balancing the aromatic intensity with freshness and persistence.
Winemaking:
Produced by Domaine Charles Frey using biodynamic viticulture and natural vinification methods, reflecting the estate’s commitment to minimal intervention and ecological farming. The wine underwent 15 days of skin maceration, fermented with indigenous yeasts, and was bottled unfiltered without added sulphites, preserving authenticity and expressive character.
Food Pairing:
An excellent partner for spicy cuisine, including Asian and Middle Eastern dishes. It also pairs beautifully with characterful cheeses such as Comté and blue cheeses.
