A characterful Vermentino from the southeast of Sardinia, ‘Notteri’ is produced by Cantina Castiadas, whose vineyards lie close to the Tyrrhenian coast. The maritime climate, abundant sunshine and granitic, mineral-rich soils of this part of the island contribute to Vermentino’s naturally vibrant aromatics and distinctive saline freshness.
Tasting Notes:
Pale straw yellow with bright clarity, the nose shows citrus peel, white blossom and ripe stone fruit. On the palate, the wine is gently textured and rounded, balanced by a clear mineral seam and lively bursts of lemon and grapefruit. Notes of peach and subtle herbal nuances add depth, while the finish remains fresh, savoury and persistent.
Winemaking:
Produced from 100% Vermentino, the grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness to preserve aromatic intensity and natural acidity. After fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel, the wine remains on its fine lees for approximately two months to enhance texture and complexity, before further resting in tank to refine balance and integration. The result is a wine that combines softness with precision and freshness.
Food Pairing:
An excellent partner for grilled and baked fish, shellfish and seafood pasta. Its texture also complements dishes with creamy sauces, as well as white meats and Mediterranean vegetable recipes.
ABV: 13.5%
