An organically produced example of Roter Veltliner, the ancient Austrian grape variety native to the Wagram region. Distinct from Grüner Veltliner, Roter Veltliner is prized for its depth and expressive fruit character. This wine reflects the Ecker-Eckhof family’s commitment to sustainable viticulture and the traditional qualities of the Wagram terroir.
Tasting Notes:
Pale straw in colour with bright aromatics, the wine shows lively citrus and stone fruit notes accompanied by a subtle spice character. On the palate it is fresh and zesty, offering intensity of flavour and a clean, refreshing finish. The organic farming approach enhances the natural expression of the grape and regional terroir.
Winemaking:
Grapes are grown using certified organic methods in vineyards across Wagram’s loess soils, which contribute to the variety’s textured mouthfeel and mineral undertone. Fermentation in stainless steel preserves varietal purity and freshness, while minimal intervention allows the wine’s natural character to shine.
Food Pairing:
A versatile white that pairs well with lightly spiced Asian cuisine, seafood and salads. Its citrus freshness and gentle spice also complement vegetable dishes and light poultry preparations.
