Description

Established in 1936, the Appellation Pouilly-Fuissé brings together the four villages of Chaintré, Solutré-Pouilly, Fuissé and Vergisson. Emblematic appellation of Mâconnais, it has made its world reputation thanks to wines of character, elegance and structure.

Tasting Notes:
The 2024 vintage presents a lively bouquet of citrus blossom, green apple, and a hint of ripe nectarine. On the palate, it delivers a smooth, easy-drinking experience with a zesty lemon backbone and soft peach undertones, culminating in a clean, refreshing finish.

Winemaking Philosophy:
Based in Southern Burgundy, the “Cave de Chaintré” is one of the oldest wine cooperatives in France. The cooperative has brought together a group of vinegrowers with a passion for Chardonnay, the key white grape of the region, since 1928. Situated in the South of Burgundy, the “Mâconnais” is internationally renowned for its wines made from the regions’ emblematic white grape. The white Mâconnais wines are characterized by an elegant finesse and expressive notes of white fruits.

This Chardonnay is not aged in barrels, instead the producer leaves it in tank on its lees for 12 months. This aids the development of texture and subtle brioche notes that add depth of flavour.

Food Pairing:
Ideal with seafood, poultry, or fresh salads, this Chardonnay also complements creamy vegetable tarts and risottos, enhancing a variety of dishes with its crisp acidity and subtle complexity.
