Description

A vibrant and approachable expression of Zweigelt from the Wagram region of Austria, crafted by Weingut Ecker-Eckhof. Zweigelt is Austria’s most widely planted red grape and is known for producing wines of lively fruit and soft texture. This example balances freshness with a touch more richness, reflecting both varietal character and the loess soils of Wagram.

Tasting Notes:
Medium ruby in colour with bright aromatics, the wine shows vivid red and dark fruit notes of cherry, blueberry and redcurrant. On the palate it is soft and fresh, with gentle structure and a juicy fruit profile. The finish is smooth and approachable, making it an easy-drinking red with appealing charm and balance.

Winemaking:
Grapes are sourced from sustainably managed vineyards in Wagram and fermented in stainless steel to preserve fruit purity and freshness. Minimal intervention winemaking allows the natural character of the Zweigelt grape to shine, delivering a wine of bright fruit and elegant drinkability.

Food Pairing:
A versatile red that pairs well with grilled meats, pasta dishes and soft cheeses. Its fresh fruit profile and gentle tannins also complement lighter Mediterranean cuisine and casual dining.

ABV: 12.5%
