Description

The Blanc cuvée comes from a tiny parcel planted exclusively to Clairette, one of the traditional white grape varieties permitted in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, making it something of a rarity in a region still dominated by red wines. The wine is typically vinified on its fine lees in small enameled steel tanks, with malolactic fermentation deliberately blocked to preserve freshness and vibrancy. Annual production is very limited, often only a couple of hundred cases, underscoring its artisanal and boutique character.

The Saje estate is a family vineyard established on nearly 7.5 hectares. Jérôme MATHIEU, the current winemaker, from more than 9 generations of winemakers in the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation, works his vines, harvests his plots at maturity, vinifies his wines and markets them.

The wine is pale green-yellow hue with silver reflections and an aromatic profile of ripe pineapple, fresh yellow pears, candied orange zest, blossom honey, and gentle herbaceous notes. It balances medium body with crisp acidity, supported by mineral undertones and a subtle nougat finish, reflecting both the warmth of the southern Rhône and the freshness the winemaker seeks to preserve.
