A generous and characterful red from the Fitou appellation in the Languedoc, produced by Vignobles La Baume. Sourced from vineyards planted across a mosaic of schist, limestone and clay-limestone soils, this wine reflects the warmth and diversity of one of the region’s most historic appellations.
Tasting Notes:
Bright ruby in colour, the nose is open and inviting, with aromas of red berries and subtle balsamic notes, underscored by a gentle hint of spice. The palate is full and rounded, with supple texture and a core of ripe red fruit. A touch of oak adds depth and structure, leading to a smooth, lingering finish with a savoury edge.
Winemaking:
A blend of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah, harvested at optimal ripeness and vinified with a focus on balance and fruit expression. A portion of the wine is matured in French oak to enhance complexity and structure, while preserving the freshness and character of the fruit.
Food Pairing:
Well suited to grilled red meats, slow-cooked stews and dishes with robust flavours. It also pairs comfortably with mature cheeses and rustic Mediterranean cuisine.
