Le Chant des Roses is an aromatic expression of Gewürztraminer crafted in the Languedoc by winemaker Xavier Roger. Although the variety is most closely associated with Alsace, the warm Mediterranean climate of southern France allows the grape to develop generous aromatics while careful winemaking preserves freshness and balance.
Tasting Notes:
Pale gold in colour, the nose is expressive with notes of lychee, rose petals and exotic spice. The palate is gently rounded with flavours of tropical fruit and delicate citrus lift, supported by a silky texture. Fragrant and well-balanced, it finishes clean and lingering, showing the distinctive perfume of the variety without heaviness.
Winemaking:
To retain the grape’s natural aromatics, the fruit is harvested in the cool of the early morning. After gentle pressing in a pneumatic press, the juice undergoes a short period of cold maceration before slow fermentation at low temperatures in stainless-steel tanks. The wine is then aged on its fine lees for around three months, adding subtle texture while preserving purity of fruit.
Food Pairing:
An excellent aperitif, and particularly well suited to aromatic dishes such as lightly spiced Asian cuisine, fragrant cheeses, seafood, or fruit-based desserts.
ABV: 13.5%
