Showcasing the vibrant character of South African Shiraz grown on sandy, granite‑influenced soils in the Western Cape, drawing influence from cooler coastal breezes that help preserve freshness and balance. The Cape Wild range focuses on expressive fruit and approachable styles with minimal intervention.
Tasting Notes:
Inviting aromas of summer pudding, ripe black cherry and a hint of vanilla give way to rich layers of dark fruit. The palate displays depth and intensity, with subtle smoky undertones, dark chocolate and star anise, youthful acidity and balanced tannins leading to a fresh, layered finish.
Winemaking:
Grapes are hand‑harvested and carefully sorted before natural fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Around half the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels of varying sizes (with a portion in new oak), adding textural richness and subtle oak integration.
Food Pairing:
Pairs well with grilled red meats, rich stews, barbecued dishes or hearty casseroles that complement its fruit intensity and layered structure.
ABV: 13.5%
