An elegant and beautifully expressive white Burgundy from Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon, the Mâconnais estate established by Dominique Lafon of Domaine des Comtes Lafon. Produced from Chardonnay, this refined Mâcon-Villages combines ripe orchard and citrus fruit with freshness, subtle texture and a distinctive mineral character, offering a wonderfully pure expression of southern Burgundy.
Tasting Notes:
Pale lemon-gold in colour, the nose is fresh and inviting with aromas of green apple, ripe pear and white peach complemented by lemon zest, white blossom and a subtle mineral note. The palate is bright and finely textured, with juicy orchard fruit and citrus balanced by lively acidity and a gentle creamy richness. Hints of stone fruit and chalky minerality add complexity, leading to an elegant, refreshing and persistent finish.
Winemaking:
Produced from 100% Chardonnay grown across selected vineyard parcels in the Mâconnais. The vineyards are farmed biodynamically, reflecting the estate’s emphasis on healthy soils and expressive fruit. Gentle pressing and careful fermentation are followed by maturation designed to build texture without overwhelming the purity of the Chardonnay, resulting in a fresh, balanced and terroir-driven style.
Food Pairing:
An excellent match for grilled white fish, shellfish, roast chicken and creamy seafood dishes. It also pairs beautifully with goat’s cheese, vegetable tarts, lightly buttered pasta, fresh salads and soft Burgundian cheeses.
