A Premier Cru Classé Sauternes from one of the appellation’s most historic estates, Château Suduiraut 2011 reflects the balance and precision of the vintage, combining richness with notable freshness and poise.
Tasting Notes:
Bright golden in colour. The nose is refined and gradually expressive, revealing aromas of citrus peel, apricot and quince, alongside hints of aniseed and subtle mineral nuances. On the palate, the wine is concentrated yet controlled, with flavours of candied lemon, ripe stone fruit and gentle vanilla. A creamy texture is lifted by vibrant acidity, leading to a long, focused finish defined by freshness and clarity.
Winemaking:
Produced predominantly from Sémillon with a small proportion of Sauvignon Blanc, grown on the finest plots of the estate. Grapes are harvested by hand in successive passes, selecting fruit affected by noble rot (botrytis cinerea) to achieve optimal concentration. Fermentation is followed by ageing for around 20 months in French oak barrels, a significant proportion of which are new, adding depth and complexity while preserving balance.
Food Pairing:
A classic partner for foie gras, blue cheeses and fruit-based desserts. Its freshness also allows it to complement lightly spiced dishes and refined savoury courses.
ABV: 13.5%
