THE BATTLE OF BAYTHORNE RETURNS
Two sell-out events have set the bar. Now George and Mark are back, with new wines to champion, fresh challenges to tackle and another delicious three-course menu to enjoy.
This isn't simply about finding a wine you like. It's about exploring different styles, discovering new favourites and seeing how two passionate wine enthusiasts can have very different ideas about what deserves a place in your glass. And when George and Mark go head-to-head, things are bound to get interesting!
SIX WINES. THREE CHALLENGES. YOUR VERDICT.
The contenders will go head-to-head across three categories:
WHITE WITH THE STARTER
A battle of freshness, texture and finesse. Two very different whites, each hoping to impress alongside smoked salmon pâté. Which will win your vote?
SEASONAL RED
A festive heavyweight to see us through the colder months. With porchetta, chestnut, orange and sage on the menu, George and Mark will each make the case for their chosen red. But which will come out on top?
DIGESTIF
The final flourish. With dinner behind us, it's time to sit back, savour something special and discover what George and Mark have up their sleeves. Who will have the last word?
THE MENU
To Start
Smoked salmon pâté with toasted sourdough.
The Main Event
Porchetta with chestnut, orange and sage stuffing, served with roasted carrot, parsnip and roast potatoes, finished with apple cider gravy.
The Grand Finale
Sticky date and walnut toffee pudding, served with toffee sauce and clotted cream.
Three courses, six wines and plenty to debate. Jon Herring has created a delicious seasonal menu for the occasion, providing the perfect backdrop to an evening of wine, friendly rivalry and lively conversation. George and Mark, meanwhile, have the unenviable task of convincing you that their selections deserve the winning votes!
The rules are simple: taste the wines, decide which you prefer and cast your vote. No wine knowledge required, just an open mind, an adventurous palate and a willingness to pick a side.
WHO WILL TAKE THE CROWN?
George or Mark? The decision is yours. Expect good food, interesting wines, a few surprises and, of course, the all-important bragging rights.
With two previous events selling out, we'd recommend securing your place sooner rather than later!
