The vintage arrived with an exceptional reputation, and the wines are beginning to show why.

2016 is characterised by freshness, balance and beautifully judged structure: ripe fruit, fine tannins and the kind of underlying acidity that gives Bordeaux its ability to evolve in bottle. Recent ten-year tastings across Bordeaux have reinforced the vintage’s reputation, while also showing just how much character can be found beyond the region’s most famous names.

We’ve selected six wines from across Bordeaux, from Saint-Émilion and Montagne-Saint-Émilion to Margaux, Saint-Estèphe and Pessac-Léognan.
